Eyebrow Slits And Cat Scratch Eyebrows Makeup Guide.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then your eyebrows are worth at least that many again. They play an essential role in how we express ourselves and appear to others.

But for many of us, this feature can be tricky to get just right. Whether you have naturally arched or thin brows, trust me you aren’t alone when it comes to struggling with the perfect eyebrow shape.

We see examples of great brows everywhere from magazines and red carpets to our friends and family every day.

And while there are many factors that go into creating the perfect set of brows (including genetics!), we’ve found some clever tricks that can help you add natural emphasis and unique character in no time!

Keep reading for six insider tips on how to achieve cat-like eye slits as well as other pro tricks on getting the best cat scratch eyebrows.

What are Eyebrow Slits or Cat Scratch Eyebrows?

Essentially, an eyebrow slit is a bare thin line of hair that goes down vertically from the arch of the eyebrow. It’s also called a cat eye or cat scratch eyebrow as it’s best seen on cats as they have vertical slits.

You’ll find a lot of celebrities adorning the slitted brow look. What makes it so attractive is that it’s a more dramatic version of the normal eyebrow shape.

It’s much bolder, and as such, it’s a great way to add some oomph to your appearance. Since it’s an eyebrow trend that’s been around for a while, chances are you’ve seen it before.

But even if you’re unaware of its name, you may have a sneaking suspicion that there is something familiar about it. That’s because the eyebrow slit is a shape you may have seen many times before.

Whether you call it an eyebrow slit or a cat scratched brow, the shape is instantly recognizable.

The Attraction of Eyebrow Slits And Cat Scratch Eyebrows.

Eyebrow slits are a highly debated topic as to whether they are beautiful or not. While some people do find them aesthetically pleasing, others find them a little extreme.

That’s the thing about aesthetic beauty: it’s subjective. What is beautiful to one person might be atrocious to another. So, the short answer is that it depends.

If you’ve always been curious about the eyebrow slit, but you’re not sure if you should try it. We’ve compiled a few reasons as to why you should give it a shot. Eyebrow slits are bold.

If you have thick brows, they can make them look more dramatic and thinner. On the other hand, if you have thin brows, slits can thicken them up a bit. Slits are great if you want to change your overall aesthetic.

They’re a great way of updating your look without making drastic, permanent changes to your brow shape.

Do Eyebrow Slits And Cat Scratch Brows Grow Back?

Eyebrow slits are created by shaving off a thin strip of hair from the top of the forehead, but will this hair grow back?

Yes and no. The hair will grow back, but it won’t be as thick as it was before. In most cases, if your hair grows back, it will be thinner than before.

However, it will grow back, and you will have thicker hair on top of your forehead again soon enough. Eyebrows are great when they’re groomed and shaped, but they’re essential when brows are unkempt.

Unfortunately, no one has the perfect brows naturally, so all of us need to work a little bit to get that perfect brow.

Eyebrows are the frame of your face and they can help you enhance your features or they can distract away from them. If you have a lot of hair on your brows, it might be time to trim them.

Types of Eyebrow Slits or Cat Scratch Eyebrows.

The two most popular types of eyebrow slits are the single and double brow slits or cat scratch brows. A single eyebrow slit is when a vertical line runs down one side of the brow.

This is a great option when you want a bold look without going too overboard. A double cat scratch or eyebrow slit is when you have a line on both sides of your brows.

This might be a bit more dramatic than you’re expecting, but a great option if you want to add some extra boldness to your appearance.

Single Eyebrow Slit.

This is a more subtle version of the cat scratch brow. A single slit is when you shave off a thin line at the top of your brow so that you’re left with just a slender brow on one side.

The key with this look is keeping the rest of your brow full and thick so that the single slit isn’t too noticeable.

A single slit is a great option if you want to try the cat scratch brow look but you’re worried that a double slit will be too dramatic. It’s a subtle way to still add some extra emphasis to your brows without going overboard.

Double Eyebrow Slit.

The double cat scratch brow is the more dramatic version of the single slit. It’s when a thin line is shaved from both sides of your brows so that they’re noticeably thinner.

The key to pulling off the double cat scratch brow is to use the rest of your brows to your advantage.

Fill in the rest of your brows so that the slits aren’t too noticeable. If you don’t do this, your brows may look a bit too thin and drawn out.

Pierced Eyebrow Slits.

This eyebrow trend is a little more extreme than the others, but it can make a big impact on your overall appearance.

Piercing your eyebrow slits is a bold look that can definitely turn some heads, but if you like to stand out and have a more dramatic appearance, this is a great option.

A word of caution: pierced brow slits can be a bit painful and may take some getting used to. Plus, they’re a more permanent change to your appearance.

If you’re not sure you want to commit to the look, you might want to consider another option.

Thoughts On The Growing Slit Eyebrow Trend.

Eyebrow slits are a bold look that is best suited for dramatic events like red carpets and parties. If you’re looking for a more everyday look, you might want to consider a different eyebrow trend.

Eyebrow slits are the perfect way to take your look to the next level, but only if you’re ready for the attention they may draw. A bolder brow is great for special occasions, but it’s not the best look for daily life.

However, if you’re ready to embrace the drama and want to try something new, eyebrow slits are a great option.

The DIY Eyebrow Slit.

If you want to try the single or double slit, but you’re not sure where to start. Here are a few tips on how to do it at home and avoid mistakes.

First, you’ll want to decide what type of slit you want to do. If you’re not sure, the single slit is a good option. It’s not as dramatic as the double slit, but it’s still enough to add some emphasis to your brows.

Next, you’ll want to determine where you want to do your slit. You can do it at the top or bottom of your brow. Choose whichever one you prefer.

Eyebrow Slits for Beginners.

If you’re new to eyebrow slits, you might be curious about how to achieve them. It takes some practice, but if you want to try it out, here are a few tips that might help.

First, use your finger and brush up through your brows in the direction of your hair growth. Next, take a thin strip of tape and place it over the top of your brows.

Make sure the tape is snug against the skin and not too tight. Next, take another strip of tape and place it over the bottom part of your brows.

When you’re done, gently pull on both strips to create a small space between them where they meet in the middle.

Finally, extend one or two strands of hair from underneath each side of your brows and tuck them back behind each other with an eyebrow pencil or double-sided tweezers.

When you’re done with this step, you should have a small gap between both sides where they meet in the middle; this is where we’ll do our slit.

Take another piece of tape and use it to cut down from above into that gap using tweezers or scissors (you can also use scissors).

If you don’t have any tweezers handy, then use a pair of scissors instead; make sure you cut down into the skin as close to your hairline as possible.

After you’ve cut down, use your finger and brush up through the gap to separate the two sides of your brows. You can also use an eyebrow pencil or a brush to help with this step.

Then, take a final piece of tape and place it over the top of your brows. Make sure the tape is snug against the skin and not too tight.

Now that all of this is done you can go ahead and apply some brow gel or powder over top of all that, then comb it through for a more defined look (I usually use Brow Styler Gel by Anastasia Beverly Hills).

I like to define my brows with a shade darker than my hair color, but if you want them to be lighter then apply a lighter formula.

To finish off, I like to add in some mascara on my lower lashes and top lip gloss so I don’t look like I don’t have any makeup on at all!
